Position: Systems Engineer

Employment:

Lighthouse Networks, Inc. (DBA – Computers Without Fear) focuses specifically on providing network design, implementation and support services to small and medium businesses.  Our clients expect us to provide them with exemplary IT support.  Our services include computer system audits, security assessments, network design and implementation, ongoing network support of LANs, WANs, VPNs, internet connectivity and firewalls.

Job Requirements:

We are looking to add a seasoned Systems Engineer to our growing team of IT professionals.  The desired candidate should possess each of the following qualities:

•    Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to represent Lighthouse Networks
        in a professional manner.
•    Team attitude with multitasking ability.
•    Strong troubleshooting, communication and project management skills.
•    Ability and willingness to recognize when it is necessary to ask for technical
        expertise from others.
•    An individual who takes responsibility for the quality of work that is performed and
        is proactive in resolving potential problems before they arise.
•    An extremely detail orientated individual who provides thorough documentation.
•    Flexibility to work on evenings and/or weekends in the event of critical system
        outages is required.
•    Experience performing network administration tasks and problem solving.
•    Thorough knowledge of Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory and Exchange 2003.
•    Experience deploying Windows Server 2000/2003 and Exchange Server.
•    Substantial knowledge of Windows 2003/ 2000/XP, Exchange 2003/2000 and
        Windows 2003/2000 Server, routing, security, Antivirus, Backup, Disaster
        Recovery, etc.
•    Experience implementing PC’s in a LANs business environment.
•    Configuration of standard POP, SMTP & Exchange clients including Outlook and
        Outlook Express.
•    Experience working with the following network protocols – TCP/IP, DNS, etc.
•    Experience installing cable modem/DSL modem services.
•    Experience configuring routing, remote access and remote desktop connections.
•    Working knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, Cisco and Linksys routers and switches.
•    MCSE
•    Watchguard experience is desired.
•    A minimum of five years experience with the above activities.

Duties Include:

The duties for this position include:

•    Resolve network and desktop issues in a timely fashion to ensure that clients are able
        to conduct their business without interruption.
•    Ensure secure and reliable access to a variety of systems for both internal and
        remote users.
•    Regular monitoring and reporting on network/system performance, availability,
        utilization and security is essential.
•    Install and maintain network and server hardware.
•    Interact with vendor support teams.
•    Design and planning of new systems.
•    Heavy interaction with end-users in diverse computing environments.
•    Interact and develop rapport with client personnel including office management.
•    Work closely with Lighthouse Networks Technology staff.
•    Provide support and mentoring to other members of the IT department.
